Sky College is an invaluable resource within our community and throughout the south west with a reputation as an exceptional provision for students with additional needs. In this capacity we are part of an outreach programme offering shared expertise between schools in the local community.
We are also an integral part of the local community offering support in a number of ways.
Think Amy is a local charity working with Somerset Road Safety to promote awareness of road safety as well as working with local organisations to raise funds for causes in and around Taunton. Sky College have adopted Think Amy as our nominated charity and we have a close relationship with the charity's founder, Jane Hofmeister, who has spent time with students to explain the story behind Think Amy and as a 'Friend of Sky College' she attends many of our open days and activities. The charity's message that every 'Choice' has a 'Consequence' is a valuable message for our young people.
Priorswood Community Centre is a valuable resource accessed by all manner of groups from the local community. Students of Sky College have produced artwork which is displayed at their centre and students have volunteered their services in various community activities associated with the centre.
Sky College also facilitates local exercise groups the are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Clubbercise and Zumba classes have been very popular and below is a link for more info.
